I just bought 2 used CRF 50s for my kids. 1 runs great and the other doesn't hardly idle at all. I've cleaned up both carbs, replaced the air filters, replaced the plugs and put in new gas. I've even swapped carbs trying to narrow down the problem. The bike with the idle problem runs pretty good after 1/4 throttle.
I checked the valve clearance and there doesn't seem to be much if any clearance. My feeler gauge is a little too big so I need to find a different one. Would the valve clearance cause poor idling?
