crf70 runs bad.

My neighbors 2006 crf70f started bogging and popping when riding. took it over to my house took the air filter out. Insanely dirty! very very bad! cleaned it out clean the air box put it all back together. The bike still does not want to idol and pops and hesitates when on the throttle. anyone think the carb is clogged? or did dirt get into the engine?

Was the filter oiled?All connections secure up to the carb?

the filter was oiled. but it still looked like some garbage got behind it. everything is secured to the carb.

Clean the carb. Check the sealant between the boot and the metal filter housing also.

I would start by cleaning the carb as previously stated, and also change the oil.Also put another plug in it. If any debris did get in there it could have damaged the electrode or insulator on the spark plug.
