I have a 1987 rm250 I just bought to play around with on the trails to keep in shape for dirttrack season. Well after the "supposed" great deal I got, lol, and the crank rebuild, I decided to have the cylinder bored too. My problem is this, it says that the cylinder came stock boron composite plated. But it looks like it has a sleeve in it, it is magnetic. I thought when they plated cylinders, they plated over the aluminum. I cant tell if it is plated or if someone put a sleeve in it aftermarket. The shop I took it to doesnt know either. I hate to send it out and have it bored to learn I have to have it plated too. If its plated i was just going to put a sleeve in it. Also if it is a stock sleeve that was plated, would it hurt to have it bored and not replated? dont want to put a crap load of money in a play bike, when I already have a small fortune in my dirttrack race bikes!!lol Thanks for the help
