Detonating two stroke

I am looking for the thread that was (I think) a sticky here a while ago.

It refered to two strokes running lean and detonating so much that even using the killswitch didn't stop them.

I know somebody who has a two stroke boat engine that has the same problem but can't remember the full deal.

Can anyone please direct me to the thread in question?

I have tried doing searches but cannot find it.
