Different KDX's?

This is probably a stupid question but is there more than one type of KDX 200 or 220? I have looked on the internet and some people say that their KDX is a KDX-220 A8, or a KDX-220 SR or just a plain KDX-220R. I always thought that KDX's all just had an R as the last letter. What is going on here? What are the differences between these bikes? Thank you for answering my extremely stupid question.

Also - what's not shown on the justKDX web site - the SR is a street model (not sold in U.S.A.).
