As dirt bike riders, it seems like we spend an awful lot of money at times in support of our hobby, but I'm here to tell you we look frugal compared to other motorcycle nuts.
One of the guys on the Ducati board I follow bought a Ducati Hypermotard S a few weeks back. He was thrilled with the bike but like most he wanted to modify it a bit, so he added about $3000 worth of cool stuff to his already $14,500 motorcycle. Excessive, maybe, but hey you only live once.
Well a few weeks roll by and he decides he loves the Hypermotard most of the time but it isn't quite enough for certain situations. SOOOO, he pulls the trigger on a Ducati 1098S (list price $20,000) to park along side his Hypermotard in the garage. Given the fact that stock is a dirty word he added about $3000 in mods on this one as well before he even picked it up.
So in the course of 6 weeks he dropped about $40,000 (that we know of) on bike stuff.:yikes:
The best line that came from all this was his response "Yes, I'm single" when asked how he pulled this all off.
Worst part is he has a really cool garage too. Lucky *******. :bang:
