For anyone interested in trying out an enduro for the first time, getting back into the sport, or just want to ride some of the best single-track available in Michigan and Indiana, this post is for you!

The District 14 Enduro Series has a lot to offer:

* 10 scheduled events per season - April thru November

* If you're looking to try or ride enduros at a more relaxed pace, our sister organization, the Family Enduro Series, is a great way to get started (or get back into the sport). The FES also offers 10 events per season, and many are held at the same location and weekend as the D14 events (FES runs Saturdays, D14 runs on Sundays).

* A combined year-end awards banquet to recognize the top performers in each of the 3 off-road series - Enduro, Hare Scramble, and FES. Over 400 attend this celebration each year, and many leave with some really nice awards and door prizes.

* An enduro community of riders and their families that get together to share their passion on the trail and off. Weekends are spent camping, cooking, riding, and bench racing. Many great friendships are formed through this shared interest.

The enduro "family" is also very friendly and helpful. Don't feel intimidated showing up for your first time. There will be plenty of folks around who remember their "first time", and will point you in the right direction. Treat the first event as a trail ride, and you'll get the hang of it pretty quick. Make no mistake though, it will be a trail ride you will never forget!

* We have events on the schedule where all you need is a spark-arrestor and a good throttle hand (barkbusters optional, but HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!).

Other events do require a little more (e.g., ORV sticker, "look" street legal), but WELL worth the price of admission.

We have "restart" style events where you race a number of different "test" sections in the woods. You line up, 4-5 riders together, and when they say "go", you GO! You get a little rest in-between sections.

There are also traditional "timekeeper" enduros on the schedule, where you not only need to be skilled in speed and navigating challenging obstacles, but also in trying to maintain a certain speed average, all while riding through tight woods, up and down gnarly rock sections, over logs, up hills, across river beds, sweeping grass tracks, through barns, over tractor tires... You get the idea.

A test section is generally anywhere from 4-15 miles in length. Regardless, you WILL be tested in each section, mentally and physically.

* You will become a better rider by riding enduros. You will be challenged like you've never been challenged before. You will be sore. You will curse (at times) under your helmet. You will have a dust and mud-covered grin like you've never had before. You will let out a hardy "YEE-HAW" after completing an especially fun section. Come out and see what hundreds of offroad riders are doing on the weekends. You will be hooked... Guaranteed!

* There are class categories for every type of rider, skill-level, and interest.

* We are a professionally-run volunteer organization. Along with a number of great enduro clubs and promoters, we provide a fun, safe, and challenging series, along with awards for top performers at every event. Race results and series points are accurately maintained, and we provide timely, informative communications to the enduro community.
