i weigh in at a mere 240lbs. not sure what the spring rate is on my 98 cr250, but im pretty sure it was set up for someone about 100lbs lighter than me. i dont race or anything, just wondering if i should have a heavier spring to hold my weight, specifically the rear since i can replace that easy myself.

if i should, what size spring? is there any charts that show rider weight to spring rate?

According to that link. A 240lb rider on a 1998 CR250 who rides motocross tracks should be ....

Type of Riding: Motocross
Rider Weight: 240 lbs
Recommended Spring Rate: 0.475 kg/mm (use closest available)
Stock Fork Spring Rate (measured): .400 kg/mm (stock)

If you dont ride motocross tracks (but rather supercross, trails, etc) then it might be different. Just use the link above.

Hope that helps.
