As many of you probably know, we have changed the name of the TrueSpode Award to "The Nyland Trophy" in honor of our sister Lori Nyland. I will soon make a post in the DW forum, making it official and want to include a little verbage about what the TrueSpode / Nyland Trophy is all about.

I'd really like to hear your definition. In a paragrah or two... what do you think it's all about? Don't be shy, let's hear it!

I really think that "The Nyland Trophy" aka TrueSpode is a spirit award. It is presented to the person that embodies a selfless spirit. This person is all give and no take. Their sence of enjoyment and accomplishment is fufilled when those around them are happy, comfortable, and taken care of. This person tends to be a free spirit and appears to pull off such accomplishments with what appears to be minimal effort. (It's just their nature.)

It's definately presented to a person who sets themselves apart. When the award is presented, no one in the crowd goes, "Who is that?" Everyone knows who the recipiant is because their experience has been effected positively by this person either directly or indirectly. Utlimately, this person is a promoter of FUN. In return, this person is fun to be around. Want to know who is in the running for this award? Just look for the person on the edge of where everyone is hanging out; this person will be there making sure everyone is having a good time.

I didn't know Lori personally, but I think that Tim has hit a homer on this one.
