If anybody is going to try and pull it off I can see it being Travis.

it is for real. tp had this trick for the x-games, but wasn't ready to pull it off in a contest. obviously the risk factor is (ahem..) a bit high.

the picture is a composite where several pictures are layered so you can see the full rotation(s).

at any rate, that is INSANE!

I scoff at the double back flip, I already took desert racing to the next level with the double front flip and I didn't need no stink'n ramp to do it, all ya need is just a small boulder, buried slightly, lots of dust and moderate speed, it's a piece of cake.

Oh and when you land and you hear a loud pop and water flying everywhere, That ain't your bladder, it's your CamelBack

Actually, it is pretty boring. I used to be excited to watch FMX... now it's gotten to the point where every backflip looks the same, and all the rest of the great tricks take a backseat to the flip. I'd rather watch a close race between anybody that watch freestyle. That's just me though.

I wonder where in Spokane, might be fun to watch! I got a person real close with about 5 portable ramps, a couple landing hills, and a foam pit yet it's not the one from the video. That video however was at the same place a video of a guy on a CBR600R(???) was trying a flip and over shot the foam pit :coocoo: Had a hard landing!

I'm with Pivey though, I think in general it's boring. Like going to a Gymnast meet or watching someone split wood :)

I went to an event and it was 2 hours of the same, except of course Cowboy Kenny who was more concerned with pleasing the crowd then copying everyone one else with the latest move!!

I still enjoy FMX, mostly due to those that do tricks, Kenny Bartram for example. Unfortunately, FMX has become a backflip contest. I've seen a couple of wins by people that do nothing but flips and dead sailors for 90 seconds. I was just happy that the runner up had skills.

Lemme hear a big AMEN!

AMEN!!!

So ...

When will these stunts breed the inevitable ... death on the floor of the arena to riders that cannot tame the ramps and their machines?

Like the Roman Coliseum, will the crowds go wild? In their alcohol sodded state, will fans of the carnage be able to dictate the fate of the riders with a casual thumb up or down?

Pablum for the masses, that is all any of it is.

You know what, I've never thought of that before. But you're right, I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet. Guys die in amateur MX races all the time (maybe even amatuer FMX), but not one pro FMX'er has died yet... even though they jump farther and higher than any amatuer racers.
Deegan almost lost his life about a year ago, and a lot of guys have had some serious injuries... but none of them have even been parylized.

Of all the sports in the X-games, FMX will probably have the first casualty... followed by Skateboard Big Air... that it some crazy sh!t. :yikes:
