Im usein a program called "WinMX" you need windows to ue this thoe. You also need "WinAmp" 2 play the songs on. The URL is here. Im downloading 3 songs rite now and with a regular phoneline there going around 5.-- K/S so its prety fast(better at night when not so manny people are down loading :D). I love it and its been said to be the best for your computer. Pluse you can download any thing off of it. I also heard Kazza's prety good but wouldent no. ;)

(Wow I though I was the onley one on rite now!)

Morpheous is pretty good. Win mx is better though. Kazaa has been linked to many problems where I work. Many of the techs have to work on kazaa screwed up computers.

I use Kazaa, and have never encountered a problem while downloading music. Its easy to use and very fast. The only thing I dont like is all the ad pop ups, but I heard you can get Kazaa "lite," where there are no ads.

WinMX gets my vote - mainly due to the millions of users and therefore the availability of almost anything. Never tried Blubster though - is it available on ZDNet or similar? Any idea how many users they have?

I thought I liked Morpheus until I tried WinMX - hated limewire, hated swapnut.

Kazza, morphius, lime wire, etc. etc. all search off gnetella so there basically the same besides the interface, I prefer Kazza though. Audiogalaxy use to be awesome but its shut down now :whiner:

I started with Morpheus but got fed up with the "new" version so I went to WinMx. I like it except that I have trouble downloading software so I installed Kaaza. I use them both, but kaaza seems more user friendly.

back about a year ago, I tried Kazaa, and thought it wasn't very easy to work with. I heard about Limewire, and have used it ever since...works great, no problems. Kazaa may have improved since then, but at the time Limewire was way better.

I've used napster and Bearshare. Latest one is "IMESH" easy, fast, and even if you shutdown during a download, it picks right up where you left off when you log back on.

Do any of these work for mac? I've tried every one mentioned and
all of them seem to be only compatible for PC. What are mac users using these days?

Roost:

Just got a call back.

If you have OS 9, LimeWire will work. It has featured other than just mp3's as well. It also works for OS 10.

If you have OS 10, Gnutella will work as well as LimeWire.

Hope this helps,

Milk
