I just read a post on the OCCRA website forums about an attempt that is already under way to close the trails at Draper. The post says there will be a meeting Thursday April 11 at the Draper concession stand. For more info contact Bruce Crone @ 405-692-8016 or Stormy Simms @405-292-7845. Has anyone here heard any thing about this? :think :whiner: :(

Man. I hope not! :aj:

That's one of my favorite places to ride.

Stormy had a real good enduro race there last year.

Looks as though the city has plans to pretty up the lake (32 million dollars worth) by possibly paving the roads, potential golf course, etc,. More information will be following as it becomes available. We will need to look at getting contact information for riders to possibly show up at the next city council meeting on this.

Having lived in OKC for 5 years and knowing a lot of the riders there, this really hits close to home. I hope this doesn't become a reality. Let me know what we can do to help. What the heck are they thinking about. Dressing up Lake Draper? For anyone that doesn't know its out by the air force base - the entire surrounding area is NOT one that brings in visitors/tourists etc. There really isn't ANYTHING of interest in this area. If anything can't they use the other side of the lake. I for one wouldn't want to play golf by the highway with jets going over every 5 minutes! There are dozens of really nice courses to play in lots better areas.

this has been on the table for a while. The ODR are working on it, I hope they can keep the place. If not Stillwater will get real busy.
