Gosh Pegasus, sure hope you can make it to the next one, it was SO MUCH FUN !!! Feel like I learned a bunch too, which is why I like racing, even tho I get really nervous at the start...after we get going, all the butterflies vanish in a puff of motorcycle smoke. There are so many times where I'm faced with a difficult spot on the track, but I can't stop to worry about it - Belinda just passed me and I HAVE TO CATCH HER BACK !!! This was the first ride ever where I've used my brakes to any great degree, usually, I come up to a corner and just let off on the gas, coast around.... but if you're trying to make time, I found it worked way better to stay on the gas almost in to the turn, hit both brakes even and hard, shift down, skitter thru the curve, hit the gas! Wow. We were all just getting warmed up when they made us get off the track with the checkered flag, rats. Two more laps would have been great. Mini, Jennifer, Belinda and I all finished within a minute of each other and had bunches of back and forths. Great fun.

I came in ninth without falling! It was my first time racing. I would like to get a copy of the video Jennifers husband shot. That would be great. Mini thanks for being so freindly and to all the girls at DRN It was cool racing with you! The blue rider Laurie

Great to see you here Laurie and congrats on the 9th place finish!!!

Had an awesome weekend thanks to all the DRN'ers who made it down there. I unfortunately was in go slow mode until Susan blasted past me. That gave me the kick up the butt that I needed to twist the throttle. I worked hard to pass Susan back, laughing and screaming at each other as I go past. I keep on pushing it but Susan came back and passed me again. Doh! Throughout this we get to pass Jennifer back. Yey! But don't get to pass Susan again. Was the first race where I've actually diced with someone, so thank you Susan for making it such a blast. It was cool that the four of us came in all together. Can't wait for next year!

Hey Belinda,

Susan yakked all the way home about dicing back and forth with you -- figures you pushing her was where she discovered her "brakes." (grin)

But you better start training now.... she just saw her table-top picture from Sunday's +50 race.... she's really stoked!

http://www.mxphotos.com/orderphoto.asp?picture_id=02A7F194-CE90-4E08-9838-80A38F904A91

I had fun too!

But I think that Crazy-a** Mick get's the award. oof! This is how Mick got 3rd place in 4-Stroke Novice.... good on you, mate!!

Dang.... it's going to be hard to wait until next year! I think our goal should be to see how many DRN women we could get on the start line next year. Wouldn't it be cool to see 30-40 women lining up!

Cheers! E-Ticket

I would love to get a copy of the video I think Jennifers husband took. My husband was busy gettng me and my daughter going he did not take to many pictures. We had such a blast! It was the first race for both of us. We did pretty good .No crashing! I will keep in touch. I do not use the computer much. It took me some time to figure this out! Anyways "Thanks again". Hi, Laurie!
Please send me your mailing address by email.
My email address is
Minilily375@aol.com
As soon as Buddy puts his video together, I will mail it to you.
I will also ask Jennifer and Pierre if they can do the same for you.

Did you check motophotos.com?
I bought two photos from Saturday race at the event. And I found two more from my Sunday race on the Web site.

Since you live in Tamecula, you should check West Chapter SoCal Wrecking Crew forum, too. I know bunch of nice guys who live in your area.

Hi Laurie,

You can see and purchase photos from the race at:

www.mxphotos.com

Once there, select "2002 Elsinore GP" and click on "Go"
From there, you can select your race, and then put your race number in "Search for Plate Number,"

And you should see yourself if they managed to get a picture of you!
And if they did.... let us know!

Cheers! - E-Ticket

Yeah, if we can get more women out there, they'll give out more than just one plaque! And the more there, you're more likely to have someone going a similar pace and you can push each other to go better than you would by yourself. Haha, speaking directly from the "Belinda Experience"...

Haha, speaking directly from the "Belinda Experience"...

Or the Susan experience! I don't think I've ever ridden as hard as what I did after Susan passed me. I worked my butt off to get back past you and then I thought I was still going as fast as before but you passed me again and I picked it up another knotch but we just ran out of time. I wish we had had one more lap. I think the results would have been a lot different :thumb:

Good job and let our training begin for next year.

ah-h-h-h-h....

It's extremely gratifying to see the ladies picking up the time-honored, male tradition of "trash-talking".....

Can the b-passes and front-wheel sweeps be far behind....?

(grin) Man, the "Winner's Pot" ought to be something next year...

"...yee-haw...!!"

And no, I don't think Susan or Belinda are competitive *at all*.... Shoot, might as well throw in Mini and Jen in that mix as well. Yup. Next year could be VERY interesting! :flame:

Here are the results of Kelly Yancey's races.

Women's experts 1/1
Open experts 6/15
4 stroke experts 6/11
Harvey Mushman 20/53

Does anybody know her riding history?

i've got the 2nd place plaque, but my name isn't on the results page. i wonder if i got disqualified for some reason? did i really come in second? should i give the plaque back? this is so depressing for me. makes me want to win more next year! i'll be a novice by then, think it's going to be a great race!

Possesion is 9/10ths of the law.

I say, hang onto the sucker, bask in your 2nd place glory, and start trainin' -n- schemin how to get 1st next year.

<grin>

Mini! That was too funny!

Janice, absolutely hang on to the plaque!!! They had you in 2nd place when it counted, so don't worry about it, you earned it.

And as far as competetiveness, remember Jennifer took the First Lap Winner pot, and was in front til the last lap having never ridden in the rain before, with Mini hot on her tail - and Mini and I duked it out seriously in the 40+ category on Sunday...she flew by me so fast I thought I'd never see her again - we went back and forth all race long and finished not so far apart.
Looking forward to Moon Rocks, and then EGP next year, should be really fun.

You paid $95 to race and finished. Keep the plaque! The scoring was so messed up you probably should have 1st place.

Just joining in on this conversation!

Laurie, glad to see that you are "on-line". It was nice to meet you at Elsinore! I look forward to riding with you again!

Regarding all the "trash talk".

Mini let's start our secret training.... We were ahead the whole race excluding the last 1/4 of the last lap! If we work on our endurance and if I learn to stay on my bike... we will be kickin' next year!

Belinda and Susan, feel free to fight for 3rd and 4rth!!! I think that next year will be interesting.... and if we have as great a time as we did this year... Wow!

Guess that we all need to start chasing Janice!

thanks for the support. :)
i called GFI today and they told me i did indeed finish in 2nd. they also said there were several mistakes on the results pages, and it would be updated asap, but i don't think i'll hold my breath. they're probably getting swamped by people calling. whatever! i still can hardly wait until next year. i'll be doing some of my own "secret training".

Yeah, your goal should be the 1st place next year! Or step up to Novice and get the 1st place!?

And our goal should be.....
Guess that we all need to start chasing Janice!

Mini ;)
PS: So Jennifer, are you coming to Stonyford to do our secret training?
