ds 80 silencer?

i have an old suzuki ds 80 its a late 70's bike...i got the bike used and just rebuilt the hole thing but it never had a silencer on it when i got it...it looks like there is a spot for one but i have looked for one every where and i cant find one...can i run it with out it or will that kill my engine?

It will be ear drum damaging loud...Im sure anyone within a mile or so would appreciate you buying a silencer. Running it without a silencer will cause it to run lean. Try Ebay.

cant find any silencers just pipes!!!

Bike Bandit doesn't have the entire mufler but it looks like most if not all of the parts are still available. You can build your own and scab together what you can't buy. maybe you could adapt something from a more common, newer bike like a Yamaha PW80.

Im with Dave...especially if you have access to a welder, you can make almost anything "work". If you dont, buy similar parts and take it to a welding shop.
