For some reason, when VD mentioned a "Gubernatorial Athlete", I thought:

Jesse "the Mind" Ventura

Which brings up another question:

VD and "The Mind": Seperated at birth?

Spot on TTR!
Unfortunatly The "War on Drugs" is a political issue that no cannidate forgets. All it is is a platform that many use who don't have any real platform. Nixon started it and Reagon capitalized on it. Now it has grown into it's own monster. Denmark has the right idea, by legalizing certain drugs it has taken the wind out of the sails of certain groups. From what I have learned in school (and its funny when you peel away the hype) POT hasn't killed anyone(Stats reflect that) it is always reflected through the news that any crimes are MJ related. Coke is the same way unless you consider the congenital defects that some users have(Glenn Bias(Right person? the Celtics B-Ball player?)) Coke came to the attention of the public when it was first spotlighted in the papers around the US in the 'teens of the 20th century as ' causing black men to molest white women' and to ' go into uncontrollable(SP) outrage' sorry if my spelling is off but that is what I learned at Band Camp. LOL

Good thought though.

Ivan, they are already taxing drugs that were at one time illegal. Taxation without representation is an entirely different thing, we have representation in the form of Senators, Governeors etc. And HELL NO I don't believe that smokers (which I am one for now) should get free health care (just because its taxed), its MY decision to do it and I take responsibility for it. We aren't talking about insurance here - FREE health care that other TAXPAYERS pay for! We have plenty of representation (probably too much) and I would totally change the way politicians get into office and LEAVE it but thats another rant :)

Nope Okie - I would suggest spending some of the money saved on some serious studies for each drug. We could even grandfather in some things that are now legal that people didn't have full knowledge of when they started. Then after education etc. if you choose to start you pay for your decisions! Again we are talking about TAXPAYER paid for healthcare not insurance!

Oh yeah, almost forgot the huge social security SCAM/RIPOFF would be gone in a freaking heartbeat.

Vote me supreme ruler and I'll piss off a lot of people but this country will be better for it and the majority of 'honest, hard working AMERICANS' would be patting me on the back.

Of course this is all just my opinion - probably be assassinated the first week lol :)

Hmmm. What if the woman decides to have the child, but the father doesn't want it? Should he be on the hook for child support for 21 years?

The father should have a say in the matter. It's a 50/50 proposition. I'm sick of hearing about guys being used as sperm donors and then having to spend the rest of their lives supporting a child that they didn't want.

My ex-wife got pregnant the first year we lived together.Instead of telling me about, she decided to have an abortion - without ANY input from me. Of course, when i found out about it weeks later, the whole deal was entirely MY fault.

Why is it our brothers and sisters on the left "generally" disapprove of the death penalty, but "generally" approve of abortion? Where do the father's rights come in?

If the "it's a woman's choice" world, why is prostitution illegal?

Why are cigs and booze legal and drugs aren't ?

Prepare for an oral presentation, due tomorrow at noon. Class dismissed. Let's see how grown-up we all are.
Let's see, it is Hot as Purgatory and I'm wearing a Parka and mittens!
Drugs, decriminalize and tax.
Prostitution, oldest profession, tax it.
Abortion, personal issue, no further debate from me.
FORCED abortion and tubal ligation for those who live off of welfare with three kids of different fathers. Force the fathers to provide financial support for the children but NOT the lazy woman that just spreads her legs to get what she needs(See view on prostitution previously stated).

To the CHP officer that fired the fatel shot, I'll gladly offer to be your friend if you need one. You provided a great service to the citizens of your state. Amber Alert does work people, it has been used locally with outstanding results. Get your community envolved.

Drugs and prostitution? Legalize, legislate, and tax. Heck, why should farmers lose their land when they can help put organize crime out of business. As for prostitution, if a man or woman chooses to, let'em make their living this way. Just mandate a licensing and health check system.

Abortion is a personal issue, so some kind of choice should be involved.

As for the death penalty, I live in Texas and wouldn't mind a lighted sign showing up to date execution stats at the state border. If your gonna kill someone under special circumstances, this ain't the place to do it.

And please, ban all pink riding gear. It's for the greater good.

Yes legalize drugs.

How come THC has no side effects other than it makes you a little slow.

It is a god send for Cancer patients and is used for a lot of other ailments.

So the Big drug companies make a synthetic, and it has side effects.
Its ok though because they can make money and pay the politicians.

AMEN!! That is so messed up. I have asked that for years!

You knock someone up, and you dont want a child. BAM! You get stuck with a bill every month.

On the other hand. She gets pregnant, you want the kid she does not, and she gets an abortion. You can't do much.

On prostitution..... Actually its not against federal law to be one. Just have to pay taxes. Yes even in a state that has a law against it. Tax evasion is a federal crime not a state crime. Prostitution is fine by federal law.

" When I am with a prostitute I am not paying for sex.
I am paying her to go home and leave me alone when I am done!!"

Child support should be a list of everything the kid needs. I will gladly go and get it. I dont think I should have to pay for her new hair cut or boyfriends steak dinner!!! If you cant afford the kids that is your fault. I can, so I will keep them!

Im going to say yes on this one. I pay child support every month and I have no problem with it at all. I was paying before it was even a court order. The funny part is the court order was less than what I had been paying. Still I pay, send things and buy plane tickets. I do wonder what happens with the money though. My wife and I have my son for 6-8 weeks in the summer and our cost of living doesnt change very much. I still make the house payment and meals when hes not here.

Im sure alot of "donors" dont feel like I do or even care for that matter. Its still a result of the time he and the mother spent together.

I can see why people say it should be a 50/50 decision but I need to disagree. Yes its a product of the 2 people but I see as more a part of the woman than the man.

Sorry if this is a rambling mess but Im tired and I wanted to respond back

I was talking about children that are conceived during a casual relationship. I know a project manager who went out with his new assistant after she came on to him. They went out twice, and the second time they slept together. Suddenly, she wanted nothing else to do with the guy, and a month later he was slapped with a paternity suit. He told me that she insisted she was "safe", because she was on the pill. Like a dummy, he decided he didn't need a condom, and now he's paying for it. . .for the rest of his life.

Turns out the woman did the same thing with her previous employer. Two kids, two different dads, two child support checks from guys who make decent money. What a scam!

JP- Sometimes I feel like that dummy. My sons mom is on her third marriage with 2 kids from seperate fathers. I absolutely hate that my son is in that situation. I have another couple years before I can get him away from her.

Mistakes happen.....How we deal with them is up to ourselves. I love my son to death and Im glad the mistake happened. Its all about responsibility. I wasnt responsible that night so I need to be responsible now.

For all the fathers out there who want nothing to do with your child...you make me sick....I have fought so hard to see my son and when I hear that people ignore their children it just makes me ill.

Maybe I should move to the flame board

I saw this and couldn't believe it until I saw who posted it. Riz, haven't seen you around here lately, where'd ya go? Anyway, it's stuff like that that ties our hands even more, everyday. The easier you go on the low lifes of society, the more they take advantage. They prey on the weak, the young and the elderly, and get away with it when bleeding hearts try to preserve their rights. The kid was an idiot, and the Officer is human and a man. When pushed, a man (human) can only take so much, no matter how much training you have. We are not robots, you spit in my face and I'll punch you back, sorry! You kick me in the nuts and I'll hit you back. Do you think someone is totally under control when in cuffs? Not a chance. I've been kicked and spit on AFTER someone has been put in cuffs. And you think I won't react to that? I won't go overboard but I will still act like a human.

The days of kicking someone's butt after a chase are over and you see where we are now for that. Every Tom Dick and Harry runs and they know that all that will happen is they go to jail. When you run, you should get your ass kicked and then taken to jail. You have no idea how many people are put in danger, but wait, they don't play by the same rules do they?! Maybe I think old school I guess but people get away with way too much these days and are never made accountable for it.

Remember Riz, I'm human just like you and have the same anger and rage when it comes to children being hurt. I just have to control it, finish my shift and then go home, forgetting everything that happened that day, un-like you.:D

Elk you're the man. When I was in High school I wanted to be a cop. After a lot of reflection, I decided it was'nt for me. At the time I felt like I would'nt be able to restrain myself from beating the s#!t out of child molesters/abusers. I chose to be a Fire Fighter to fullfill my need to serve and protect.

Hap, that would have been my second choice, thanks for doing what you do too.:D I got to thinkin after I wrote that and it really pisses me off when I hear someone say things like Riz did. Even though I've talked with him before on other posts, he hit a nerve I guess.

You know what really gets me, the guys that run around intimidating people that can't fight for themselves. Guys that cut other people and laugh abouy it, the one that cuts in lines and pushes his way around others. The little gang punks that when found alone, don't have squat to say because they are weak and will get an ass kickin by an 80 year old women. The imigrants that come here working the system to scam money from the elderly. I'm tired of all the crap that people get away with while some just stand and watch. If you see a P.O.S. picking on someone, stand up for them, help the ones that can't help themselves. I take pride in hooking up a punk that has wormed his way into the system and sits back and laughs when they are caught. Jails are a joke, lets have some more like Arizona's tent camps. Excellent job down there folks!:D Can we at least make it a little inconvienent to go back to jail, you know, like NO T.V. and weight rooms!:moon: How about Sheriff Hege in North Carolina, if you run he will chase you and ram if necessary.

Off the box for now, sorry. Riz, didn't mean to single you out but think before you speak. If you think you have any idea of what law enforcement has to go through, you're wrong. Just because you have cop friends, doesn't mean you have a grasp on the job at hand.

I have nothing but the utmost respect for the frustration you deal with on a day to day basis Elk, my father is a cop and I work in a quasi policing situation with Hospital Security. I also had 10 years of retail security for a major retailer up here and nothing is more frustrating to arrest some dirt bag and he's laughing at you while saying "why are you wasting my time? I'll be back on the street before you get off shift"

It always struck me as odd that someone not privy to the entire situation could make a judgement on watching a video clip that someone over reacted or got carried away in the use of force to overcome and subdue a suspect.

Keep up the good work and know that for every dirtbag and dirtbag sympathizer there are many silent admirers of the officers who put themselves in peril everyday for our safety.
