A few people have asked, where to park at the GP?

IMO, it depends if you are racing or watching. If you are racing, there are many empty corner lots around the starting line near Main St. Some lots charge to park, but there are many that don't charge. I usually try to park close to the impound area. That way you don't have to push your bike very far after your race. I have found out that my bike seems to weigh a whole lot more after the race than before.

IMO, the best place to watch from is back at the Rodeo grounds. You can see much of the course from there and also you can walk up into the hills for a closer view. To get there, take Franklin street South from Main street up towards the hills. Sometimes they close Franklin St.

You can also take Lakeshore Dr. South to Auto Center / Casino Dr. and go left to the end of Auto Center Dr. This will put you at the road crossing jump. Good place to watch from.

If you have a motorhome or a big trailer, I would suggest moving in on Friday since those lots fill up quickly. There is a lot of parking available on the street also.

If anyone wants to meet up after the races for dinner, desert_racer and I are trying to come up with a place to do that. Any suggestions??

See ya all there. :thumb: :yeehaw: :yeehaw: :yeehaw:

Tony.

I was thinking about Sunday night after the Harvey Mushman race. That would give us that are riding both days time to prep our bikes on Sat. night.

There is a Coco's on Diamond Dr. and Casino Dr. or thereabouts. It's the Diamond Dr./Railroad Cyn. exit, just West of the freeway. It's a large resturant and should be able to accomodate all of us.

Possible change of plans for dinner.

Check out Desert_racers post about 'Elsinore GP, BBQ.

Him and his wife Angie have offered their home for a BBQ. Only about 15 min. from the GP.

Thanks Rex and Angie. :thumb:
