Spark Arrestor ANSWERS!

The most popular Spark arrestor made by FMF is the Turbine Core II
If you have a spark arrestor already on your bike, it will be stamped into the housing of the arrestor. It will say somthing like"USFS Approved Spark Arrestor" We used to get by with just putting a piece of screen in the silencer, but those days are gone forever. I hope this helps clear things up for you and good luck at your first Enduro.:)

You can get a spark arrestor to fit on the silencer cheaper. My CR500 has the Gnarly Pipe with a silencer (don't remember which one) and we put a Sparky Spark Arrestor on it.

The FMF Turbine Core lists for about $140 at MXSouth and replaces the silencer. I think my Sparky was about $40 and fit ON the silencer.

We have too many bikes with too many parts for me to remember what has what but you should be able to call your local shop (or any dealer) with the info on what type of silencer you have and see what they have available.

I know I had to drag home more than one Sparky to get one that fit my bike.

Cr250 - Make sure anything you buy does indeed say "USFS Approved Spark Arrestor", and don't take the guts out. Some clubs here in FL are more strict than others but at our last enduro we promised the land owner that all bikes would have the approved sparkies and we had to send a couple of riders home - if it's not stamped approved it wasn't, and we also did a rod test to check for guts. It was not fun telling the guys that drove hours, etc. that they couldn't ride, but we'll get the land again next year!

Good luck on your enduro riding. Check out the Hare Scrambles series here in FL, lots more fun in my opinion. More of them and the trail is usually better - less whoops.

cr250 - I try to ride all of the H/S's and an enduro or two. Rode the Tallassee enduro and didn't like it - whooped out single track thru trees scare me, slows me right down! The H/S are more fun, in my opinion, are more family oriented what with all of the classes for the little guys/gals, spectator opportunities, etc. The ladies really seem to have fun, very friendly but very competitive and some of them are really fast!

I live near Ocala NF so I ride there whenever I can - not often enough
