My next home town will be Fort Mcmurray, is their an active off road club in the area? how are the bike classes grouped 125, 200, 250, open ??? I need to start planning my next purchase, is their a KTM dealer in the area?
I'm also interested in some Hare Scramble's around Calgary. I just started getting back into some riding around McLean Creek but I'm interested in doing some competion. Any input would be appriciated.;)
Hopefully someone from the area will have answers to your questions. In the mean time I suggest checking these two websites: http://www.canmocycle.ca The Canadian Motorcycle Association http://www.cmrcracing.com CMRC is the major off road/M-X sanctioning body in Canada.
Maybe Canadian Dave, who writes the Just KDX portion of this site can help, he's from the Calgary area I believe.
Thanks Alex, actually the http://www.canmocycle.ca/index.cfm gave me exactly what I was looking for. Now I just have to find the time to make it to one of the races... I appreciate the input.
The first XC of the year in Alberta is the Pincher Creek race 'the Porcupine'. I have competed there the last three years, it is a really fun event. Our group hasn't made it to any of the other events on the XC/enduro/hare scrambles calendar up there but compared to the fairly wide open Porcupine race, the other races are the epitome of "tight".
As a side note, the Porky race was where I decided to add the Scotts Stabilizer to my bike; for long downhill trails that turn 90 degrees into the Aspens at the bottom, can you say headshake :scream:
hey people from alberta I need someone to go riding with I wan't to go to mclean creek but I don't want to breakdown all alone or any thing like that
we should decide a day to meet and all go there
just an idea and a way to make more riding friends
post here or email me at [email protected]
later:cool:
