? - Engine Difference between '97 and '99 YZ125?

Im buying a new top end kit for my yz125. When I bought the bike a few years ago I was told the "engine assembly" was 1999 although the bike was 1997. When I order the top end kit, are there any differences between the top ends of 1997 and 1999 yz125 I need to be aware or? And is there any way to tell the difference so I can know if the seller told me accurately?

I have no idea but a good start would be to compare part numbers on Ronayers or Bikebandit

I'd look up piston, jug, cylinder head, rings. If the part numbers for both years match, they're identical.

But even if they don't match, that doesn't necessarily mean they are not interchangable. It just means you have to do more research.
