Whats the differences between the Euro spec Gas Gas and the USA specs? In Canada, it appears we get the Euro specs as we get wiring for turn signals etc... I noticed in a brochure we dont get the FMF pipe and we can only get the EC model w/USD forks for 2001. Any other differences I should know about? THANKS!

The XCs are US models developed by GGNA. We can't get '01 ECs, so I'm told.

I am also told the "true" EC models are not available in the US. That's sad because not everybody wants to give up smooth power for a few more ponies........ That was an executive choice from GGNA..

Josh,

My local dealer said they are also supposed to be able to program the ignition in the '01 with a mellower curve and add a flywheel weight to get EC style power with XC suspension. I'm sure your dad knows more about this.

I know what your talking about. I just liked the pre-99 ec's better than what out there now... The new ones seem all about HP ratings..
