Excel or DID rims?

jus wonder if you guy are using the original DID rims or changed it to excel rims? which one is better?

I don't think there's any question Excel's are better. They'll take a bigger hit without denting or getting a flat spot. I've not had any problems with the stockers doing that so I'm still running the DID's on all our bikes.

Excel's came stock on my 02 Cannondale. Love them so far, no problems :cool:

DID RIMS ARE STRONGER BUT HEAVY AND THEY ARE BETTER FOR WOODS.
EXCEL RIMS ARE MUCH LIGHTER AND WILL BEND SLIGHTLY
INSTEAD OF CRACKING.DID WILL TAKE A HARDER HIT BUT WILL USUALLY ONLY GO SO FAR AND WILL CRACK USUALLY AT THE WELD SEAM.
EXCEL FOR MX AND DID FOR CREEK CROSSINGS AND HAIR SCRAMBLES ETC. THIS IS JUST MY OPINION BASED ON MANY MOONS GONE PAST.

My KTM EXCs came with DIDs, my GasGas with Excels. In the same rocky terrain, the front DIDs on both KTMs were dinged after 1 season, but still well within service. The Excels on my GasGas are still true and dent free after 2 seasons. It may have something to do with bike/style, but the DIDs are fine and I wouldn't change them unless it were neccessary.

Havn't heard much about the new "U" DIDs for off-road, but they come on some of the new Kawasakis and all of the new GGs.

Is there a source for the "U" Did's?
My excels are both square and I can't find a place to get the new style lipless did's at.
I saw an ad once for them but can't find them...
Thanks...

well..i think basically have to base ur decision on what u gonna ride.
If u're like me using for transport to University and back...i think Excel works fabulously on my GasGas 200EC and u intend to go for trail riding...Excel are really good for it. Most of my friends doesn't really like DID due to the weight issue but i think it's not a prob.:)

"U" rims? My local dealers brought them in. didn't nitice the brand though. Think I'll stick to the DID rims. not intending them for any rough use anyway. thanks guys.:uh:
