exhaust joint

so i have a 94 wr250 that im still peiceing together and im getting close to being done but i need to know.... it has an fmf pipe and silencer, is there supposed to be a rubber joint or gasket at the pipe/silencer connection? is it the same as stock or is it an fmf peice?

im sure one would'nt hurt to seal it there though
or maybe som kind of high temp silicone between the 2
