I am looking to gather some information on these types of events.
In Michigan we started with one or two events a few years ago and it has grown to 5 events this year (including one in Indiana). Our format includes 30-50 miles of trail (sometimes two loops) and a speed change from 12 mph to 18 mph to test the timekeeping of the riders. We have three year olds riding buddy with their parents all the way to 64 year olds who are looking for a good trail ride and an opportunity to bench race afterwards. We have 13 classes and we use donated trophies so that each kid gets an award.
I know that their are similar events in the southeast (SETRA) and in WI/MN area. What about the northeast (ECEA) or out west in D36.
Let me know what is going on in your area.

District 36 has a youth/family enduro series. Five events on the calender in 2006.

I have never ridden one, but from what I gather they are shorter and easier than a typical district enduro. I don't know if any riders as young as 3 run them - that seems very young. They still have timekeeping.

The d-36 page is www.ama-d36.org for more info. You can register and post your question in their forum.

DBD, Thanks for the info. I checked out the site and gathered some information. However, the registration process required a D36 membership number. I ran into the same issue with SETRA.
I will try to gather more information using emails.

The AGP had pee-wee classes for both the quads and motorcycles.

I have been to the NETRA site. I am learning that each District does these events differently, but I have some ideas on how to make the Michigan series better. Thanks for the information. If you have other suggestions, please share.
