What i'm looking for is some help on choosing a new bike. I've got a cr250 it just aint fast enough for me anymore. What i do is alot of drag racing on the sand flats. What bike would you recommend? I would like to stick with a 2 stroke. I'am not brand loyal I just like SPEED if you know what i mean. Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Why stay with the big four? All bike mags claim KTM 380 is the only up to date big bore 2-stroke, cr500 no longer in production,KX 500 design has been around since th late 80's, prices are good on used, comparable to big four new, with the exception of KX of course because of dated design.

We have a -02 380 SX and a -02 520 SX in the carage, and have had about 5 CR5s, the latest being a -99. Yes, the KTMs are nicer to rider and faster for almost anyone on an MX track. However, once you start drag racing, I think the CR5 will come up on top.
