I have a 2002 kx 250. I just have a stock pipe. I want to buy a pipe that will help me in hillclimbs. Which pipe will work best for hillclimbs the fmf fatty or the fmf sst?

The fatty is the choice. If your interested, I have a fatty that is dinged up but functional that was on a 99 KX 250. Cover the shipping and its yours. Try it out and if you don't like it, get the SST.

My curiosity is calling. My son has a 2002 KX250 that still has the factory pipe. I have looked at the FMF website and they show a different Fatty pipe for the '99 and '02 KX250's. Pro Circuit also shows a different Platinum pipe for the '99 and '02 models. Are you saying that a pipe for a '99 KX250 will also fit a '02 KX250? Why do the mfgs. show different pipes?

Yamaha did a part # change on the YZ250, they changed the length of the exhaust flange by 3-4 mm in length. Overall, the same pipe.

Uhmm, he's talking about Kawasaki KX250's, not a YZ250, just in case you had a brain fart and missed that.
