Just bought a truck, I was wondering how I could find out things such as rear end ratio, does it have an anti-slip diff., also did it originally have keyless entry, etc...

Is there a list of codes some where? If so, would there be a key to these on the internet?

Thanks for your help:)

Moto-Depending on the year, there could be labels in any number of places. Some are in plain English and some are in code. The first two places I would look are inside the door jam and inside the glovebox. I know on some older cars that they would put a copy of the window sticker under the back seat sometimes. Also, you may be able to do a search using the VIN. That's all the ideas I have.

Sounds like it's a newer truck so cehck the glove box and there is a sticker that has all the codes on it in respect to particulars about the truck. You can also take the VIN # to the dealer and ask them to search it to tell you what options it came with. Or you can get a hold of GM back East (from here) and get with their customer service center, give them the VIN and they can tell you where it was shipped and what options came from the factory. Good luck

It's a '98 Ford. I wasn't sure if the VIN would give me a detailed list. I do have a subscription to carfax, but this doesn't exactly give me what I was after. I will look in the glove box....thanks for the suggestions, guys!

Give me the VIN, I'll tell you what dealership received it and then you can go to them for the specifics.
