I have a Twin Air filter. What foam air filter oils do you guys use? What do you like what do you not like. I use PJ1 foam air filter cleaner and am happy with it. So far I have been using Maxima FFT. I just wanted to know what you guys use and what works well.

Another vote for NoToil. I also use Maxima and Silkolene. Tried BelRay, but didn't like it personally, just too thick.

Chock up another vote for No Toil. I have used their grease as well as their oil. The grease works alright, but the oil works awesome. I am using a PC Racing Pro Seal now so I don't have to mess around with greasing the lip.

I am currently using the PJ1 Cleaner on Maxima FFT oil. I'd bet it will work on any type of oil. You just spray it on mush it around and wait a few minutes. Then all you do is wash it out with WATER! No more gas. The stuff is mint. I've also seen a similar product by Uni that does the same thing.

I'm still a greaser :) I haven't had any issues with the no-toil grease....but then again, grease is grease, at least when it comes to filters.

I have been using the UNI cleaner and spray on oil, works great!! Another thing you may want to consider is PC Racing's Filterskins. They keep out 90% of the dirt from your filter and are easy and convenient to clean. It's been my experience that cleaning the air filter, especially with gas, is what causes it to break apart so the less you have to clean it, the longer it will last. 3 filterskins for about $15 will save you a lot of time and money in the long run.

Uni filter oil in the 16-oz bottle...stickiest oil I've ever seen and doesn't impede air flow through my Twin Air filter. To clean, I use the no-fume mineral spirits from the paint section at Home Depot. I like the idea of removing all the oil from the filter and starting fresh. Mineral spirits do this; soaps and detergents like Simple Green and No-Toil get the dirt out but the filter's still sticky.

i have just started using Sikolene, and it is great. it comes out of the can in liquid form, so it is so easy to rub through the foam, it's just not funny. takes 1 minute to oil the filter and you know it is done right. leave it out in the air, and the oil begins to turn 'tacky' in a few minutes. really tacky actually.
i don't use grease either, only on the wheel bearings.

2001yz250, i wouldnt use the pc racing filter skins on a uni air filter. I think it would be more of a hassle because, the uni air filter have the 2 stage foam. So it already has a "skin" on it. You know what i mean. On a one stage foam filter like a Twin air i think you can benefit from the skins but i think it would be a waste of money on the uni air filter.

i think those comments are spot on, and the filter skins are a great idea (even though i don't have any myself). the point on 'cleaning the filter reduces its life' is true in my experience also.

Turpentine or Mineral Spirits (Paint Thinner) makes an excellant cleaner for air filters and will not destroy the foam.

I use the PJ1 Super Tacky Red spray on oil filter. Its so much easier than pour on.

Straight kerosene for cleaning and Maxima FFT for oil. Have tried Honda's filter oil and it's ok I guess. It just doesn't seem to set up as well as FFT. There's my $.02.

No Toil over here. Cleaning the filter in the kitchen sink is so easy that I end up cleaning my filter way more often which makes my bike way happier.

The CR has a UNI filter the YZ does not but how many stages a filter has doen't matter when it comes to using the filterskins. They just keep you from having to clean your filter so often plus you just remove the dirty and put on the clean in seconds.

I use No-toil oil, cleaner, and grease, and their filters for that matter.
I love it, much easier to clean filter with their system.
