Fork mods for cross country

Built myself a 98 kx up with a 90 kdx 200 engine.Gasgas rear ohlins with spring for my riding weight.The front forks are from a 04 kxf250.They are stock.The springs are ok for my weight.What other mods would anyone recomend to the forks.Ive heard about modifying the base valve to soften the hard hit but what does anyone one else think.Im all for the hands on cheap mods. :cool:

can someone please tell me the correct wt of fork oil for my 04 kxf forks and the amoungt each fork requires?Im thinking i will change the oil for fresh and put less back in to take away some of the harshness.

Do a search on your bike info , it will give you oil weight and level, plus there is a spring generator to find you ideal spring rate .
