I have a 97 CR 125.
I'm in the process of doing fork seals
and some other maintenance.
I ordered the Clymers manual for
this bike but it's not going to be here for
a few days and the seals will be finished today.
I was wondering if anyone knows the factory specs
for this bikes fork oil height/ capacity?

I've been searching around but can't seem to find
a clear cut answer.
The forks are USD KYB. (came stock on the bike)

So if anyone has this manual or just the answer,
a thousand thank yous in advance!
Also, if anyone needs info from this manual I should have it in a few
days and would be happy to help someone.

Thanks, Kyle

Thank You

Thanks for the responses.
I guess I should have asked my Q differently.
I was looking more for capacity than height, but thats my fault.
If anyone is curious the Clymer Book says..
standard is 20.97 US oz.
maximum is 21.88
minimum is 20.33

And for height..
standard is 104 mm (4.1 in.)
maximum is 81 mm (3.2 in.)
minimum is 120 mm (4.7 in.)

These numbers are for a 97 CR125
according to the book the amounts
differ with every year.

My book covers CR125 92 - 97, CR250 92-96
if anyone needs info from it.

you dont want to use oil capacity. Reason being is if there is any fluid left in there from not dissasembling the forks competely, you will have adverse effects.

What you do is measure 110mm or 4" on a zip tye, then mark that level with a sharpie pen. put the mark on the top if the tube and insert the tye into the fork. Then fill the level to the bottom of the zip tye with the fork collapsed and the spring out.

since he is replacing the oil seals all of the outer chamber oil will be out. so, adding the amount of oil that the manual says would be correct.

if you dont drain the cartridge, it would not be correct. Not everyone knows how to do that. plus on the single chambers you dont have to pull the cartridge out to do seals
