Fork Swap?

I have an 84 YZ250 and my buddy has a 89 YZ250 parts bike. I was wondering if the inverted front forks from the 89 would fit on the 84. Are the head tubes the same size/length? This would really make this old bike a hell of a lot nicer of a ride if it worked. Any help would be great :aj:

If the 84 has conventionals and the 89 has inverteds, you'd want to swap the whole front end including the triple clamps and the brake system. You have a good chance that the frame head bearings will swap, but I can't say for sure.

Cool Thanks, I plan on swapping as much as I can onto the 84. I am just take it all apart and go for it. Hopefully it fits.
