Forks apart and Got no oil. Help

Greets,

Just wondering if anyone knows if fork oil can be replaced with something readily available in an autoparts store.

Problem is, forks are apart and ready to be put back together but someone (me) forgot to buy fork oil and now all the bike stores are closed.

Help!!

You could use Mobile ATF to get you by

Mobil-1 Synthetic ATF is great fork oil, if 7wt is acceptable to you. I use it in both of my full size bikes (KDX and YZF) and it is the same red color when I drain it as the day I put it in. It works great in shocks too although I hear it is too heavy for PDS use.

I'm hooked also on Mobil 1 ATF. The stuff is good and it slows down internal wear.

It's actually comparable to a 15wt. according to the Mobil Rep I spoke with about it.

That thick? I had heard people saying it is about 7.5w and some other, 10w. Then if it is a 15w, does that mean you would have to use a valving made to work with thicker oil? I found on my bikes you have to adjust the clickers to a softer position than stock but other than that it does a great job.

Normally all you have to do is adjust your clickers softer, works fine.
