Fuel Filter

I just bought an 01 KX250 the guy added an inline fuel filter between the tank and the carb, should I leave it there or get rid of it?

I have the same thing on my bike, the previous owner added it, Im planning on removing it, the fuel petcock or on/off switch for the fuel has its own fuel filter, its small but thats all you should really need.

I don't know what problems it may or may not cause having it but i do plan on removing mine pretty soon.

Why remove something that is there for protection? If it is clogged, replace it. If not, its just added protection.
