I have been considering a '02 KTM EXC or Gas Gas EC. I have
owned KTMs but am new to Gas Gas. I have noticed that the resale
on Gas Gas seems to be considerably lower than same model KTMs.
Anyone have any ideas on this? The Gas Gas seems more "woods
ready" with the good tires, race ready suspension etc. The KTMs
I have owned require new tires, new seat foam, suspension mods
etc. I would think that the resale would be better? Thanks for your input.

Arby - simple reason. The more limited the market the more limited the resale value. KTMs used to be that bad (still are harder to sell than Jap MXers) but the increased volumes of new bike sales has broadened the market for the used bikes.

Well sure I am buying it for my enjoyment. However I normally get a new bike
every two years so resale is an important consideration as it should be with
any substantial purchase.

Arby,
That makes perfect sense. I know other's who've held off on the GG for the same reason. In some area's of the country, the GG's are mainstream enough that it's not as big a problem.
