Gas Leaking into Pipe

I am having this problem, when i forget to turn the gas off while in storage, the almost all the gas from my tank drains into the pipe, my local shop said that a new NEEDLE VALVE SET should fix this. What do you think? That is a OEM 30.50 piece. also where can I buy new gaskets for the whole carb (kit). It is a Mikuni TM carb.

Why not just make a big sign where you store your bike reminding you to turn off the petcock?

Pull your bowl and check for a stuck float. Mine would do that from time to time and mine has the same carb.

I am going to be ordering the part, just to see if that will not help, i mean if the dealer says thats it, well then it must be. thanks for the replys

If the float isnt stuck, check for debris around the float valve...i had some stuck in there a few days back and it would just leak no matter what i did.
