I run a 2003 KDX220 with a FMF Gnarly Pipe and PowerCore 2 silencer, the air box has been drilled. What would be the best gas/oil ratio? I currently use 40:1 and when riding in a open are it's great, but on tight trails it runs like crap!! Any suggestions??

I think that is more a jetting issue than mix ratio. Or, try running a hotter plug like a 8 if your running a 9. A hotter plug will keep the cylinder cleaned up better and give better response if you are loading up.

You probably need to lean the main and pilot a couple of sizes to clean things up. They are rich to begin with and the pipe will require leaning it more than if it was left stock. 40:1 is good on the oil.
