******gear box 2nd gear yz 250 2003

Good day dear reader,


I have a YZ250 2003 and it is in a garage in Bahrain. Now apparently my 2nd gear is messed up and i need a new one.

The problem is the gear does not fit.

Apparently every country has different engine parts. which amazes me.

I was told i have a size 15 gear tooth for second gear . and that here they have 16 . so it wont fit. i cant order it in Japan for some strange reason so i am lost. how do i get a tooth 15 and hwere is it from .

One person told me Switzerland and other told me south africa.

would be a lot easier is every yz250 was identical world wide.

Can someone enlighten me what tooth 15 is and where it is from and how to get one ?

Call up Yamaha, give them the vin of your bike to be sure it is from your region, and they should be able to get the parts for it or at least redirect you to someone who can. They told me they keep stuff up to about 10 yrs old and after that they sell it or toss it.
