I had an older 93 kx 250 in the past and the guy I bought it from had it geared much lower for trail riding. I just bought a 99 kx 250 and it is fast...........Wondering if anyone can tell me the stock gearing for the front and rear sprocket? Also wondering if anyone has suggestions on gearing for trail riding?

I usually go up in the rear for trails.

On my YZ250F I went from a 48 to a 50 and am very happy with it.

All depends on personal preference. Some people don't change any gearing at all with the KX's b/c that year KX was a really good woods bike in stock form.

13/50 or 13/52 depending on how low you want to go.

FYI; One tooth smaller on the front normally equates to about three teeth larger in the rear. In NETRA races I run 12/52, (real tight stuff). Good Luck
