GETMETOCA did it!!!

GETMETOCA finished an Enduro race today! :yeehaw:

The Enduro race was Bearfoot Family Enduro. We rode about 63 miles. The course was very nice and family friendly, there were some pretty steep hills, though.

There were 6 ladies from DRN.....Natalie, Karna, Belinda,
Jennifer, Kali and I. We all (12 people including husbands and friends) camped together on Saturday night and had a blast in the race on Sunday. I really enjoyed being with everybody. ;)

But the main event was that Natalie finished the Enduro. Because she rode on later minute than us, we were waiting for her to come back. And when she came back to the camp on her KTM, everybody surrounded her and conglaturate. This is what DRN for!
Congratulations again, Natalie! :thumb:

I sure hope its ONLY a few days Fred!  Last night after I got home and unloaded everything, it was all I could do to nurse a rum and coke and contemplate just how many days this pain was going to hang around! I could barely roll over to turn off my alarm clock this morning!

Thanks for the post, Mini and everyone!  This was a big deal for me to finish an enduro and everyone was so great about it!  This was also the most miles I've done in one shot.  The kTm definitely carried me through some rough spots.  I loved camping out and riding with this group, we all have an awesome time when we are together!

Buddy and Mini took us on a 17 mile ride the day before the enduro and I got to try out the kTm on California soil for the first time.  It felt good to ride that bike, and I felt good this weekend so I was all "up" for this race.  The morning of the race, Justin and Kevin put my odometer back on the kTm and my brand new chart holder as well.  I got a crash course on timekeeping and then everyone had to head out for their minute.  I was on minute 52A.

Kevin and Kali rode on my minute with me.  Kevin rode my XR because he was without a bike for the time being (his Husaberg blew up at the 49er last weekend). He was a HUGE support and hung with me the whole race and made sure I got out of a few hillclimb jams.  Electric start or not, I could not have finished the race without Kevin's help.

At first gas I was wore out and kinda shaky.  I was late and only had about 10 minutes left of my scheduled break.  I had put some cheese sticks in Karna&Justin's lunch bag but cheese just didn't sound good.  I found Justin's leftover grapes that he did not finish off and ate those instead.  Much better!  By the time we headed back out I felt slightly recharged.

I don't recall any particular part about the course right now, its still all a blur.  There were a lot of uphill climbs, a lot of wooded single track and a good portion of fireroad.  I do recall coming out of a turn in the woods and racking the bike up into two trees.  I was inspecting the mark I left on the tree and the thought of MXBUNDY crossed my mind, but no one leaves a mark like him!! I also remember bogging down on one uphill and trying to maintain control of the bike as I slid backward.  Just before I lost control and fell I remember this WHOOSH! and a rider getting by me right before I hit the ground - that was close!

The kTm was so much fun to ride, I am convinced that my riding pleasure and speed will increase tremendously with this bike.  When I got back to camp, everyone (Karna, Justin, Buddy, Mini, Belinda, Mick, Jennifer, Pierre, John, Kali, Kevin) was there to congratute me and that made me feel REALLY GREAT!!!  THANKS EVERYONE!!:yeehaw:

Go Natalie! 63 miles? :scream:

Great job. I don't think I could ride 63 miles on PAVEMENT.

Natalie I am very excited for you. At the school in Oregon I could see just how persistent you were so I am not surprised you finished. Keep it up!!!!!!!
