I'm pretty sure that the TTR has a kick start as well, it just has the little red button too. Kick start advantage is simple, you never have to worry about a dead battery. E-start advantage, you don't have to kick to start the engine. E-start disadvantage, and the extra weight of the starter and battery. As heavy as those bikes are, the latter doesn't matter.

Theyre good beginner/trail bikes.

Japanese build quality is very similar across the board for similar bikes, some just have added features. Some of the noteables comparisons for the 125 trail bikes are are E-start or not, kick or not, perhaps both, disk or drum front brake, wheel size, general astethics, favorite color. Then there are the subtle things that really don't matter and you probably won't notice, like the design of the chain adjusters. Either way, yep they are both good bikes (for their purpose) and you can probably just pick a color.

Sorry, but the TTR125E is also electric start, and I saw one yesterday. The E in the name denotes the magic button throughout the TTR line.

It's actually a little grey button. The little red one is the kill switch, but that's neither here nor there.

and yes, there is a regular TTR-E version with the little wheels and drum brakes. I got one, but it is soon to have discs on both ends.

My bad, I never really looked at the button, and don't even know why I mentioned color.
