From the USFS:

Subject: June 2004 Gifford Pinchot trail conditions

The Valley trail, # 270, is open and cleared.
The Blue Lake trail 274 is open to Blue Lake. The section above the lake
is blocked by snow
The other trails that go up from the Valley trail, trails 271, 272 and 118
are also blocked by snow several miles up.
All of the High Lakes and Dark Divide trails are blocked by snow.
Trails 80, 3, 2 and 18 are blocked by snow well before the Boundary trail.
Cussed Hollow trail, 19, is blocked by snow just below the 93 road.
The abandoned 585 road, near trail 18, also called the Boulder Creek
trail, is open to trail width up to the 2334 road to Council lake.
The route up to Council Bluff is blocked by snow about half way up.

It will be several weeks before the snow melts enough for the trail crew
and volunteers to cut out the fallen trees. It serves no purpose to try to
ride around the fallen trees or patches of snow. It only degrades the
natural beauty of the Forest alongside the trails. Please turn around at
the first barrier and try again when they are open.
