I wasn't planning on going, but dim-sum was over so early I figured what the hell ! I got to Glen Helen in 30 MINUTOS !!!
We missed the 1st 125 moto but caught everything else. Windham was shredding everyone in the 1st 250 moto until he jumped and drifted in the air too far to the left ... into the fence and an obstacle. It looked nasty but he got right back up ... and then took a very long time to re-light the CRF 450. Dropped from 1st to like 14th ! Bummer ! Carmichael then moved right in and took home the first moto with Reed in tow. Pastrana was a way back during the race but dropped out ... apparently he blew out his knee again and this time it may be a career-ender.
The 2nd 125 moto saw Langston get out front with Brown chasing him down until the very end. Brownie almost got him but it was a little too late. Anyway, Brown went 1-2 and took home the overall. We saw Buddy Antunez do a ragdoll on the uphill straight just before the Budd's Creek step-up (?). He was OK. It was funny watching the fans pawing his bike while he was only 5 feet away trying to recover ... people were literally bouncing the rear of his bike up and down testing his suspension settings and whatnot.
Carmichael ran off with the 2nd 250 moto with Reed 31 or so seconds back.
We ran into KIWI and Thumbs and hung with them for the day. By the way, the mud gets deep at Glen Helen.
All in all a real fun day. Gotta love So Cal ....
