racerx just put this up....seems the VetNationals at GH are still a go
19TH ANNUAL WHITE BROS. WORLD VET MX CHAMPIONSHIPS WILL RUN AS SCHEDULED THIS WEEKEND AT GLEN HELEN RACEWAY
According to promoter Lori Yarnell, Glen Helen Raceway will still host the White Bros. World Ven MX Championships this weekend, despite being burned by the raging fires in Southern California.
"It burned all around the facility - Mount St. Helens is burnt, Yamaha mountain - but all of the structures are fine," said Yarnell. "The race track actually saved the facility - it was a fire break. Our biggest damage was in the water lines, and we don't have any electricity, but we're working on generators to get it all back up. And we are racing the World Vet Championships this weekend.
"I feel sorry for the people of the region who have lost their homes and their businesses," she continued, "but there's nothing more to burn here at the track, so we figure we might as well go racing."
