My buddy just bought a 2002 WR426. I Have not had a chance to ride it but we fired it off in his garage and things don't seem to be as they should. It does not take long before the head pipe starts to glow from the head and about 6 to 8 inches down the pipe. I know these thumpers run hot but this seems a bit extreme. I assume it is running lean but had someone tell me that this is somewhat normal. The guy he bought it from said the only mods are a YZF throttle screw. It has the stock pipe and it did not matter if the baffle was in or out it still got hot. The bike appeared to be in very good shape and supposedly only has about 50 hrs on it. Seems about right for the condition.
