I was considering getting a more woods oriented bike for myself but i really cant make up my mind. I always rode MX bikes and i love the one i got which is a 99 RM250 but recently had a deal to possibly trade for an 02 KTM 200MXC. Is this going to be a huge difference in power completely, like always having to be on the pipe like a 125? I am a bigger guy as of now but the weight has been coming off lately, i'm around 210 now instead of the 225 i was over this summer when i rode. I think it may of been the shape i was in that my RM was wearing me out cause my last rm didnt do that. I still get to ride open areas near my house and love the power of my RM, it just rips, so would a ktm200 be a major step down from power and such?

I had a 200 MXC and went to the RM250. Loved the switch.
the 200 is a good bike, the RM just moves around more easily-for me.
Lot's more power on the RM. You can feel it on the MX track especialy like coming out of corners and hitting the gas for the upcoming jump.
The 200 should be plenty for the woods.
I had trouble with the KTM 200 and their suspension. I apparently do not weigh enough for the KTM.
You can get plenty of springs for heavier weights, just none for light weights.
Enjoy.
