I am in the market i think for a KDX. I have realized that to make a 250 mxer into a woods bike would take to muck money. So, I am 225lbs, 5 foot 10, I ride 6 out of 10 for aggesivly, have been riding for about a year, and ride mostly single trackes with step graval hills. Which out of all the KDXs would be a good bike that i could put some money into and have a bike that could be my last. When i say all of the KDXs i mean the air cooled to the liquid and 175 to 450. THANKS!!

I'd go later model 200/220. I dont think that the 200 was available in Canada from 97 to 06 so it could be harder to find. But I could be wrong. The 220 was available from 97 to 06 and was liquid cooled ( very little diffrence between 200 and 220). You can find a good 01 220 for about 3000$ +/- 200$ .Wich province are you in?

British Columbia and i am also not sure if they sold the 200 back then in Canada because i was not born. There is a 1984 KDX 200 that is in good condition and is the red version. Its going for $1000.00. What do you think.

The 220 would be alot more common in my parts. But, if i do come across one i will buy it for sure. My uncle gets made fun of when we go to the local hill climb and he is riding his 1977 IT400. He dose not get up iyt the quickest but, he always makes it up.

Any of the KDX's are great bikes. Especially for trail riders.
I would look for an 1989 or up 200. I am getting an 87 200 motor that I am rebuilding and putting in a 86 kx125 chasis with updated suspension. Even the aircooled motors were good!
