kelsorat, there are unfortunately few reviews. If you go to atkusa.com and read the forum, there's only ONE post where a guy rode FRANK's 700 on a weekend ride at Adelante or something. There was one bland statement regarding its performance, something like "a 2 stroke with bottom end like a 4 stroke" or something. Hell, mine's got that and is half the money. There are no real over the top positive reports about it, and I'm sure that 'friend' of Frank's isn't going to be telling the whole story.

However, ATK isn't a big supporter of the main mags, and a Dirtbike article (which is on their website, but was probably still unbiased due to the small amount of advertising dollars spent there) is available to read. It really was bland as well, leading you to believe the bike was bland. I remember the original Maico 450 articles and how amazed they were with that bike. Something doesn't quite smell right, here. Maybe there's no public relations personnel @ ATK. ?????

Maybe I should just get one and find out. I'm sure it would be worth it just to get to play and try to get it to rev higher than a lawnmower.

Updated frame for KX500? Maybe if I rode tracks, but out in the desert, nothing beats that 89' frame!!! Nothing can eat up nasty high speed whoops and rutted hills like a KX500. The XR650 is great for that too but with a little more weight.

It's a real shame the last 500cc bike will soon be history. You can bet I'll be on mine till the parts dry up, and then I'll find me another 2 stroke. Don't think I'll riding when they force me to ride a 4 stroke.
