Would there be any advantage to puting grease nipples on a swing arm with sealed bearings and no nipples, i have also thought about doing the stering head. Has anyone done this ?

If the bearings are sealed you will be waisting your time. Sealed means nothing gets in.

Another thing, I'd be leary drilling holes in the swingarm for a nipple, I've had a swingarm break before and that's no fun

I would say that the swingarm seals were NOT meant to take pressure from the inside. My thoughts would be that you will push the seals out of position if you use zerks to put grease into that area.

Routine maintenance includes taking the swingarm apart to clean and grease the roller bearings.

I am in the process of replacing swingarm bushings that were sealed and HAD grease nipples.... To bad the previous owner never used them!
