A friend of mines 99YZ250 is hard to start. Once running; everyting is fine. Warming it up seems to make no difference; still hard to start. The top end is fresh, (maybe 7 hours on an EGorr 265 kit). We just changed the reeds tonight but it made no difference. Still requires 8 or 9 hard kicks to start. Furthermore, the effort required to move the kick lever is very high. We assumed this was because the EGorr kit makes such good compression. Other pertinent info: When the cylinder was modified to 265, the bottom end was also gone through by 2Fast Racing. All new seals and rod kit included. Spark plug is new, jetting is spot on. The only thing I can think of now might be a worn carb slide. The silencer packing maybe has 15 hours on it. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
