The AMA's site shows the national as 8/11 in Harrison....where the heck is that?? U.P.?? Some Buzzard club is putting it on...i've heard the one's that Randt has done the last couple years have been EXCELLENT. Any info on the terrain around Harrison??
Harrison is north of Clare and south of Houghton Lake. The Lipovsky family is very well known on the enduro scene in Michigan. They sponsored the National enduro in Michigan three years ago. They do a great job...difficult trail and lots of spectator spots.
The terrain in the Harrison area tends to be sandy, very few rocks, but logs are always a possibility.
It would be worth the drive from Minnesota.

Harrison is know for very long stretches of singletrack like up to 20 miles long so I wouldn't be surprised if some of the special test sections are real long with a mixture of ORV trail and virgin linked together to make a nice long stretch. But I'm coming from enduros I've ridden back in 1977, 78 and 79!!!:scream: :scream: :scream: :ugg:
I did not attend the Harrison enduro last year. However, I understand the Lopivskis have access to private property (similar to Alan Randt and the Wolverine enduro). So you may not see a lot of ORV trail and I am not sure of the length.

I have raced all of the Buzzard MC enduros. They were formerly held a few miles from Harrison in Leota. Many good long sections of MI sand event and orv trails. This was the location of their last national a few years ago. In the last two years they have put on races in Harrison. Very short races. Less than 20 miles of actual racing. Most sections are barely 3.2 miles. They even have bumped up the speed average and used a reset in order to make a section long enough to score. They also use the same sections more than once in an event. Last year the event was a mess. Alot of mud and riders going everywhere. Some rode the whole trail, others did not. I hope that they will be running their old trails in Leota or they have come up with ALOT more property. I sense that they have been trying to put on "fun" races for begginers (restart format, short sections, overly long resets, low total ground miles). The Lipovskis do know what a national caliber enduro is all about. I hope they decide to give us one.
