I think he's still a member of Team Suzuki, but I wouldn't go lookin' for him any time soon.

I bet he'll be running the AX series with Bradshaw soon.

Windham got back on a bike about a month ago and has raced a few races in Texas. He's been mixing it up with Demuth in the couple of races. His wife is having a baby in March (I think?) and K-Dub is going to sit out the SX season because of that. But he plans on being back for the 2003 outdoor season. There has been some really good recent interviews with him in Racer X, Cycle News, and other publications.

Kevin is not on Team Suzuki, or any other team at this time. He is riding
an RM250 which has a few minor mods. As mentioned he plans on riding outdoor nationals only, although at Mosier he mentioned he 'might" race one or two "close" SX races (being Houston & Dallas) depending on his baby being due, physical condition, etc... after racing Mosier & Swan he is home
riding , training ( he is still far from 100%) and working on Flying W trails.
all this is subject to change of course, I would expect to see join a prominent team after the first of the year, someone will make room for him if he continues to progress.

I'm sure this will piss people off, but Windham has serious psychological problems. That guy won't get on a plane anymore because of 9/11. :silly:

Anyone that now won't even board a plane does NOT, and probably never will, have what it takes to beat RC. End of story. Reed's the only one with enough 'nads and talent to run up front with RC, but Windham??....I doubt he'll ever have the same speed. He's also getting old.

You guys may not believe it, I didn't at first, but K-dub was at our local arenacross in Starkville MS last night. He looked really good, and easily beat our local pros, while wipping it flat over the finish line every lap. He still has what it takes, and remember he's the last man to beat RC outdoors. That's saying a lot.

He was on a Suzuki practice bike, running SoBe graphics and gear. He said he still enjoys racing motorcycles, but he will not do much SX in 2003. His baby is due in March and he doesn't want to miss it. He also plans on switching bikes as soon as the Suzuki contact is up, rumored to be about a week away. I think he would be a perfect teammate for MC on KTM.

On a side note, Kevin is a class act. He was really nice to everyone, signing autographs and posing for pictures. I know he gained atleast one new fan :)

yeah Kevin is a really nice guy. I met him at Budds creek in 98 after he won the 1st 250 moto. Its a shame he doesnt have a ride anymore.

I just read the racer-x interview with him and he sounded like he wasnt too concerned about not having a factory ride anymore. He's not even sure about racing and a whole bunch of things. He wanted more time at home and with his family so I guess thats what hes getting.

Windham is only 24 or 25. That's a long way from being old, even in SX terms. He'll be back.

Reed is the only one who has the nads to run with RC. TP had faster lap time in every race he was in.While even being sick! If david (12) didn,t get hurt he could had the title. RC was the only person that stay healthy all season.
And it showed.

Okay, let me rephrase: Anyone that won't get on a commercial airlflight because of 9/11 probably doesn't have the fortitude to drop all stops, run balls out, and beat RC.

....and I'll try to "concentrate" harder ( ) to think only about people I know personally. So my mother the other day said.... :silly:

Doc, I don't think you should be speaking for your mom!!!!!! It's all Junk information unless you can read her mind!!!!!!! You should really just concentrate on talking about yourself, since you are the only one you truly know!!!!!!!

okay, I'll get my tongue out of my cheek now . . . ;)
